Attention Student Drivers: If you have submitted your parking permit applications, please pick up your tag from Mrs. Hakey. Next week we begin celebrating our 50th Anniversary with our annual Homecoming & Spirit Week, History in the Making. Next week’s theme days begin with the 1970’s, and is followed on Tuesday with the 1980’s, Wednesday with the 1990’s, and Thursday with the 2000’s, the week finishes Friday with Spirit Day & a pep rally. Friday night we will have a Parade through downtown Swanton, HS Dance, and Fireworks free and open to the public. Get those outfits ready, there will be prizes awarded during the pep rally for students in each class who is the best dressed! Do you enjoy solving interesting problems and participating in friendly competition? The Math League team will be holding a brief informational meeting Monday the 16th in E5 at 2:45 PM. The team is open to all high school students. Anyone interested should attend. Please contact Mr. MacCormick for more information. This year marks the 50th anniversary of MVU Musicals. We are excited to announce that this year’s show will be Chicago. In preparation for this year’s show, there will be a number of “dance camps” running prior to auditions to help prepare for the best performance possible. Anyone who intends to audition must attend at least two of the camps as show choreography will be introduced and part of your audition process. There are sign-up sheets for each session outside the music room. There will also be a community information meeting on Monday November 4th at 6pm in the music room. Informational packets will be available outside the music room beginning Monday 9/16/19. The annual New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) College Fair will be held at Saint Michael’s College on Thursday, September 19th. If you are interested in attending please sign up in the Guidance office and hand in a permission slip (also found in Guidance) by the end of this week (Friday 9-13-19). We will be leaving MVU by bus at 8:15 and should return to MVU by Noon. We will be taking two busses and please note that Seniors and Juniors have first priority if there are more people who sign up than the two busses allows. The 11th Annual MVU-BFA Powder Puff benefit football game will take place on Saturday, September 28th at the Collins-Perley Sports Complex beginning at 7:00 pm. Come watch the senior girls from our two schools compete on the gridiron to support Camp Ta-Kum-Ta and The Bashaw Trauma Center at Northwest Medical Center. Remember there's nothing Powder Puff about this Football game! It is not too late to join our group travel during winter break 2020 to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris!
