Students in Art 2, Art 3/4, and Graphic Design have been very busy lately. In Graphic Design students are in the middle of creating t-shirt designs for a company. Using the "Love Me" logo, they are set with the task of producing a design inspired by Valentine's Day. To hone in on their skills, they are also incorporating the style of illustrator and graphic artist Chris Piascik. Students are in the middle of their project, and here are some photos of their creativity at work: In Art 2 students are in the middle of a large painting project using the ideas and motifs found in Surrealist artwork. Students began the project by building their own 3D canvases which they are using to draw and paint their work. Check out their progress! Art 3/4 students will be treated to two guest speakers next week. A representative from the Swanton Arts Council and Sophie from Village Frame Shop will be coming to speak to students about the process of reproducing their artwork for profit. They will also be speaking about the SAC Youth Art Show, and the Emerging Artist Award.
As a school, we are so excited about all of the wonderful opportunities our students get to experience on a daily basis. A special thank you to art teacher Ms. Didio for creating the space for students to push their creative boundaries, and for introducing them to professionals in the art world.
